Many people who work in the corporate sector climb the ladder of success sooner than a few others who struggle to even survive in this field. What is different is the approach both sides take and how they handle the situations.
Author Anjali Ahuja through her experience as an HR professional for over two decades shares her adventures and misadventures in the corporate field and the lessons she has learned through this process.
She explains in detail how the corporate world has changed in the last few decades and at the same time the increasing expectations of employers from the employees.
She explains the positive and negative sides of the corporate world and gives guidance on how to improve yourself to achieve success in the field you desire.
She gives clarity on how different is the actual reality of the world with what you have been taught in B-schools. And how important it is to maintain work-life balance and to have a perfect mindset to handle any situation.
If you are feeling you are not moving ahead in your career even after all the hard work you have put in, this book will give you some practical suggestions and skills that need to be mastered to achieve just that.
She uses examples of real corporate leaders like Steve Jobs, Warren Buffet etc to explain the difference between a true leader and a manager. It's very inspiring to read these examples and everyone can take motivation from these.
This is a very inspiring and motivating book for all those who work in the corporate world, for all those who are struggling to move ahead in their careers and for those who don't know what mistakes are they doing that they are stuck in the same position for a very long time.
The language used in this book is very simple, subtle and lucid. In fact, anyone who wants to build their career even if they are not in the corporate sectors can gain a lot of useful information and suggestions from this book.
